Salwico Gas Detection System when you demand dependable and safe systems for your vessels“

The Salwico history starts back in 1959 when the first Salwico gas detector was released. This system was a very simple one only offering the capability of detecting hydrocarbons but still offering something better than what was available at that time.

Over the years the Salwico range has developed and today’s systems are considered to be top of the line having all the qualities and features that can be expected from the User as well as the installer. Having a broad range of equipment that can be combined into different set up’s we are confident that we can supply solutions for every need in modern ship designs.

The Salwico systems can be found on COT’s, P/C’s and other specialized vessels as well as onboard LNG’s and then most often in combined set up’s incorporating our fire detection systems as well; each with its respective requirements and considerations for optimal solutions. Our position nowadays is a result of long and dedicated work adding more and more experience with every new system we develop and every new project we enter.

Salwico SW2020

The most well known system is the by now “standard of the business” SW2020, which quickly became the “No 1” choice for concerned owners and yards after its introduction to the market in 1997. We have thereafter spent lots of time and resources to further develop it and today it is the most modern and proven such system available. This system is of scanning (sequential) sampling type and is suitable for water ballast tanks, void spaces as well as for pump room applications and offers by its unique design a possibility to connect any 4-20mA gas detector up to 4 in a system. For P/R applications this system replaced the earlier GC-104/KVC-41 types, which have been in the market for many years. The SW2020 system has a number of safety precautions not to be found in any other system as a whole, most competitors have one or a few but not all together, why the operational safety of the SW2020 is considered to be the best in the market.

Salwico GS3000

Based on our proven and trusted fire detection system, the Salwico CS3000, we have used the experiences and hardware from that system and adapted these to gas detection requirements found in offshore applications, onboard LNG carriers and other demanding installations. As this is the world’s first and most proven loop-configured analogue addressable gas detection system we have been chosen as the preferred supplier by well known and well-reputed owners for numerous projects around the world. Further development has been put into this system type and it has now established itself as the natural choice for today’s safety-concerned LNG operators around the world.
